The semantic structure of every homonym is considered as a distinct system of individual meanings tied with chained polysemy relations. three homonymous verbs: lassen I with the meaning "to get free, separate", lassen II with the meaning "to perform a volition act towards another person", lassen III with the meaning "to cause something". This article fills a research gap in providing a quantitative analysis of port governance in Europe, using data from a major survey, which the European Sea. The evolution of port governance has so far mainly been analysed in qualitative terms, through expert knowledge and case studies. The ever-changing environment in which ports operate has put strong pressure on the role of port authorities. This essay discusses these issues as they are realized on the ivory Cloisters Cross in New York City and then contrasts this highly self-conscious use of inscription to other texts on Romanesque ivories.
